Back Shed Press, originally Roadside Press, is an independent publishing press that was established in 2021 by Jaidyn Luke Attard to meet the needs of the underground publishing scene in Melbourne/Naarm.
We specialise in zines, chapbooks and short works of fiction, non fiction and poetry. The weird and whacky, the gritty and grungy, the dark and delightfully niche — this is us.
Currently in our early stages of development, Back Shed Press cannot promise widespread distribution. Our works are available in localised zine shops (such as the Sticky Institute), a selected range of bookstores, and online (Big Cartel for zines and chapbooks, Amazon & Book Depository for paperback books).
What we can promise is this: underground and aspiring writers do not need to fear us. We aren’t mainstream publishers. We will stay true to your vision and take care of your works. Back Shed Press has got your back.
Back Shed Press is not taking submissions. We are currently the main publisher for the Melbourne underground writing collective, the Degraves Circle (@thedegravescircle), and as such, members of the collective are our first priority.
